Christoph Laimer, co-editor of dérive - magazine on urbanism, speaks about editorial strategies and current topics of the publication series; and on further activities of the association dérive. dérive – Society for Urban Research was established in Vienna as an independent and interdisciplinary network focusing on critical urban research. The NGO aims to collect and spread knowledge on urban issues and foster debate about urban developments from a sociopolitical point of view. Since 2000 dérive publishes the international magazine »dérive - Magazin for Urban Research« and since 2011 also produces a monthly radio show, which is broadcasted by various non-profit radio-stations in german speaking areas. Among its other activities like exhibitions, lectures, discussion panels, workshops and writings »dérive - Society for Urban Research« organizes the annually 10-days-festival »urbanize! Int.
