For one and a half years, < rotor >, an association for contemporary art, will house the Balkan Konsulate. Young curators from Belgrade, Prague, Istanbul, Budapest, Sarajevo and Vienna will present important artistic positions in the consulate. In addition to to the shows in the consulate, films and DJ-evenings will take place at the branch offices located in the Graz Mediathek, Celery's juice bar and Vipers bar in Palais Thienfeld. The Balkan Konsulat also houses a café with books, catalogues, magazines and videos that convey the flair of the various cities. The Balkan Konsulat's first guest is Belgarde. Represented by Remont, currently the most moveable site of contemporary art in Belgrade. A veritable melting-pot of the most interesting artists in Belgrade. The web site www.remont.co.yu gives an impression of the manifold projects of this platform. At the Balkans consulate and brach offices, Remont will stage current art, film and music projects.
