In the last years, through the works of
Michael Hardt and Toni Negri (“Empire”, “Multitude”,
“Common Wealth”), we have experienced a Renaissance of Operaism.
This neomarxist movement that developed during the social struggles in
Italy in the 60’s and 70’s, is now- especially in the light
of the present crisis - a more than current instrument for political analysis
and activism. The lecture provides an overview of operaistic thinking
and describes the specific nature of this theoretical tradition.

The so-called “militant analysis“ is the
centrepiece of Operaism. Alongside an introduction to the practice of
investigation, the workshop will focus on how these practices - taking
into consideration the political and artistic work of the participants
- can be used to take action. |
