Mobile
Wildness Workshop with Markus Hiesleitner Thursday, October 3rd 2024, 15:00
Meeting point: < rotor >, Volksgartenstraße 6A, Graz
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * The
work that Markus Hiesleitner is shown in the Wild Spots exhibition borrows
from tumbleweed, which is a classic motif in westerns: The wind blows
the spherical shapes through the area and thus promotes the spread of
the plant. The Mobile Wilderness project refers to the idea of spreading
wilderness in urban areas.
The objects occupy places and thus also prevent direct human access; they
have the potential to give nature some space to grow wild, like in front
of the Orpheum Graz.
In the workshop, Markus Hiesleitner will show how the tumbleweed can be
formed from plants that have previously been harvested along the Mur and
in other places in and around Graz.
Everyone is welcome to participate. Registration is requested but not
obligatory: rotor@mur.at, 0316/688306
