Walk in public space with Nayari Castillo and Consuelo Mendez

We cordially invite you to view the works of two artists in public space. In solidarity to the day of the Indigenous Resistance and their engagement in the protection of ecosystems, on behalf of life.

Nayari Castillo is showing the work Spells for Shapeshifting in the exhibition Wild Spots at < rotor >. The spells are an invocation in the form of a poem, intended to give people access to certain characteristics and abilities of wild animals.

The tour visits places where some of the animals have been seen. The places act as portals for shapeshifting to call upon the animal in its habitat and aquire its particular powers.

In her exhibitied artwork TERCAS, Consuelo Mendez deals with the presence of plants or weeds that proliferate in the urban landscape in association with various beings, both magical and real, that are present in the artist's personal view of the world and nature.

As part of the tour, we pass by her painterly interventions in places where this proliferating nature was not seen before.

Participation in the tour is free of charge. It will be held partly in German and partly in English.
