Beast Mother Workshop:
The Childbirth Position
with Grossi Maglioni Friday,

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * „Beast Mother workshop: The childbirth
positions" by the artist duo Grossi Maglioni is part of the "Beast
Mother Research" project. The aim of the workshop will be the research
and the reenactment of mothers’ positions and postures during the
precise moment of giving birth. The artists together with the participants
will work on the iconography of motherhood, starting from the ancient
figures representing fertile woman with large breasts and pelvises, analyzed
by Marija Gimbutas.
The workshop is addressed to a small group of women, mothers or mothers
to be, as well as women, who are interested to deal with the topic of
giving birth, that have pleasure to talk and work on their past and future
experience of childbirths.
The participants will be involved in both physical and theoretical way,
toghether with the artists the women will produce a collective drawing
that will interact with the artworks currently shown in the group exhibition
in < rotor >.
