For their project COLLECTION 42° 42' 31'' N, 18° 19' 17'' E the artists RESANITA are collaborating with a local botanist and students of the Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of Igor Bošnjak. RESANITA are examining the vegetation on site carefully and point
out, that nature is stronger than established civilized, historical or territorial processes. Their research circles around one core question: in their artistic practise, can the region be thought of in other contexts rather than the historical hardship without forgetting about the past at the same time?

During their research-based visit in
November 2016, they examined the city and surroundings of Trebinje together and made an inventory of landscape, (hi)story and the local botany. They also collected sujective experiences, samples from nature and scenic impressions, which are now being analysed and renegotiated in the frame of the exhibition COLLECTION 42° 37' 25.20'' N, 18° 24' 39.76'' E / 42° 37' 50.91'' N, 18° 27' 49.07'' E.

The specification of three coordinates in the project-title and exhibition-title respectively, point out Trebinje´s geographical position on one hand, as well as the exact location of the two fields of research, which can be understood in the strict sense of the word: for the exhibition, these precisely defined segments of nature found in Trebinje´s surrounding area have been examined in view of botanical characteristics, recorded by a drone and eventually made tangible for the visitors.
